Top to Bottom

Hey, I'm 21 and currently attending Bucknell University, just trying to make it. I like to read, and explore. Harry Potter fan, idealist, universalist, christian, thinker. I'm coming to terms with my self diagnosed OCD.

the-unpopular-opinions:

People on Tumblr need to stop making up new genders every five minutes.
You can say “but that’s how I identify!” all you like, but the majority of the time the only reason a person believes they are a non-binary gender is because they don’t fit the gender norms for their assigned sex.  Guess what?  Nobody fits their prescribed gender norms to a T.  Probably 1% or less of the population is 100% masculine or feminine, because people have depth and are infinitely complex beyond their assigned sex.
Inventing more genders just invents more ways to put people in boxes and try to limit who they are, but people never have and never will fit into the little boxes you try to put them in.  Tumblr talks about cissexism so much, yet the very concept of non-binary genders are based on gender stereotypes—-if they were based on dysphoria, they wouldn’t be non-binary.
